About the Author

Roberto García got his MSc. in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). His MSc. thesis, completed the year 2000, developed a distributed knowledge management system using Semantic Web technologies. Then, he completed a Master in E-Commerce and collaborated in the first steps of a web and interactive systems company before returning to the academic world. In 2001 he got a research assistant position at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and carried out his research in Semantic Web based multimedia and digital rights management. These research activities concluded with his PhD thesis in 2006 about a Semantic Web approach to DRM. He is now an assistant professor at the Universitat de Lleida (UdL). He is also member of the GRIHO Human-Computer Interaction and Data Integration research group, where he is combining his previous research lines with trying to get the Semantic Web in touch with real-world end-users.
